Miriam Cruz

Miriam Cruz has managed the difficult feat of raising a family and at the same time having a brilliant stage career; of course, she had help from her friends, her husband, parents, and children. Her professional theater career began in her native Puerto Rico at the age of twelve. When she arrived in New York she immediately became part of the emerging Hispanic Theater movement in the city. She hasn’t stopped acting since. She has acted with all the major Hispanic Theaters and many of the better known American acting companies in New York City. Her acting roles have ranged from elegant classics to the shattering domestic dramas of today and to the outrageous comedies of some of the world’s most imaginative writers. It can really be said of Miriam that she was born to act. It is her art, her love, her life, and her religion.
