About

PROLOGUE

I was born in Canada in 1941 just as the heat was being turned up
under the inferno in Europe of World War II.
My father joined the Allied Forces, the Irish Regiment, and was shipped out
before I was born, returning to us in 1945.
The free world celebrated and my life began.

My first public performances at age 4 were in Legion halls  where the
troops were entertained. I danced to the sound of bagpipes
and in a
tiny voice warbled song lyrics like
There’ll be blue birds over
the white cliffs of Dover,
tomorrow just you wait and see.
The veterans applauded me enthusiastically and ordered up another round of beer.
I was a hit!

Show business! I was hooked.
