When you put in a gallery, are some of your photos much bigger, especially much taller, than others?
Solution 1: Did you crop your photos before you put them into the Media Library/Gallery? If not, they might be too big.
Solution 2: Change the order of your photos so that all the tall photos come after the wide photos.
