  4. Highlights: Timeline

If you want your Highlights to appear in chronological order, you can back-date the post, or “add a timeline,” to reflect the date of the events you are describing.

This is only one date, not a range of dates. If this is a theater piece, for example, you won’t be able to put the whole run. Rather, you can back-date it to the first day of rehearsal, first production meeting, first day of tech, first preview, opening night, or closing night!

Where can you see the Timeline Dates? The dates will appear on the side of the page when you click “Highlights” and under the Highlight’s title, also on the “Highlights” page.

Please note: This is an optional detail. If you don’t wish to back-date, the highlight will still be dated, but it will be the date you created the highlight.

Click the headings below to explore the topics.

Dashboard: How to Create a Timeline

If you don’t wish to display the entire date of your Highlights you can change the default date settings for your site in the Dashboard.

  1. On the top of the page, on the black bar, hover over your name.
  2. A dropdown menu will appear. Click on “Dashboard.”
  3. On the left hand side, there will be a black column. Find “Settings” and hover over it.
  4. A dropdown menu will appear to the right of “Settings.” Click on “General.”
  5. Scroll down slightly until you see “Date Format.” Change as you’d like. To show only the year, choose “Custom date format” and enter Y.
  6. Click Save Changes at the bottom.
  7. To return back to the Front End, go top, horizontal black bar and click on your name.

Below is an example for Step # 5.

We’re happy to help if you run into trouble or have a different preference.

Hiding Timeline Dates

Let’s say you want to have your Highlights in a specific order, but you don’t want to the see the dates. You’d want to hide the timeline dates.

To do so:

  2. Go to small black bar at the top of your page.
  3. Click Customize.
  4. You will see a column pop up on the left side.
    1. Click Additional CSS
  5. Click Enter or Return (depending on your keyboard) so your curser is on a new line.
  6. Add the text: .blog p.post-meta {display: none;}
  7. Click Publish on the top right of the column.
  8. Click the x on the top left.
