Jane Gennaro<\/span> is a New York-based performer\/writer\/artist whose body of work explores our relationship with our bodies, society, and nature in diverse formats from one-woman shows\u2014<\/span>The Boob Story, Reality Ranch<\/em> (The American Place Theatre); <\/span>Heebie Jeebies<\/em> (Culture Project\/Impact Festival), to hybrid monologue\/art exhibitions\u2014<\/span>Shaking the Goose Egg <\/em>(The Workshop Theatre, Rogue Space, Times Square Alliance),\u00a0 <\/span>Feed the Models<\/em> ( Fashion Institute of Technology ), and most recently<\/span> Storytales (<\/em>The Claverack Free Library).<\/span>

\n\"\"Gennaro started as an illustrator and stand-up comic. Her singing impressions of rock stars led to television appearances on Today, PM Magazine, and Sunday Comics. \u00a0She hosted SHOWTIME\u2019s White Hot Weekend Report, voiced skits on \u201cThe Late Show with David Letterman, and performed at NYC comedy clubs (The Original Improv, Catch a Rising Star, The Comic Strip) and in The Toyota Comedy Festival.<\/p>\n

Cabaret credits include \u201cThose Gennaro Sisters\u201d, a \u00a0singing comedy act with her sisters Ellen and Mary Jo (Carolines, The Duplex, Horn of Plenty, Studio 54, West Bank Cafe), and her solo show series, \u201cMe Jane\u201d.<\/p>\n

A radio personality, and comedy writer, Gennaro did commentary on NPR\u2019s \u00a0All Things Considered.\u00a0She was the rare female writer\/cast member on the\u201d Imus in the Morning Program\u201d (WFAN). Other writer\/performer radio credits include \u00a0The American Comedy Network (ACN) and Joey Reynolds (WNBC). \u00a0Gennaro was signed to a lucrative contract to be a traffic reporter in the afternoon drive despite not knowing how to drive or for that matter, where the boroughs were. Though not a fan of the sport, Gennaro became\u00a0the color commentator on cable\u2019s\u00a0The Cavalcade of Boxing and\u00a0 host of Cable TV\u2019s\u00a0Cue On J,\u00a0interviewing seminal New York City personalities. A successful commercial actress for over 35 years, Gennaro is known for voicing national network campaigns, promos, audiobooks, and radio commercials. Hundreds of voice-over credits include satires (NPR) cartoons (<\/span>Umi Zumi, The Wrong Coast, Smoking GunTV);\u00a0<\/em>promos (<\/span>Unsolved Mysteries, World Wrestling Federation<\/em>); documentaries (<\/span>The Kinsey Report);\u00a0<\/em>industrials (<\/span>Unicef, Novartis);\u00a0<\/em>and PSAs (<\/span>American Cancer Society<\/em>). You\u2019ve heard her voice on <\/span>ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, HBO, MTV, Discovery, Nickelodeon, Lifetime, Showtime, Sci-Fi Channel, and Cartoon Network. <\/i>On Camera, Jane was a principal player in many National Network commercials selling everything from breakfast cereal to toilet paper (<\/span>Total, Sugar Crisp, Charmin, Ritz Crackers, Jiff Peanut Butter, Heart Guard, Alka Seltzer, NyQuil, Denny\u2019s, Olive Garden, Toyota, Chevy, Sears, Wisk Detergent, Toys R\u2019 Us, Crest\u00a0Toothpaste, Dial Soap etc.)<\/i><\/p>\n

Gennaro has played multiple roles in audio dramas for the\u00a0Seeing EarTheatre. <\/i>She impersonated Joan Rivers on the novelty record Can We Talk\u00a0<\/em>(Rhino), Cyndi Lauper on Every Dawg Has Its Day<\/em> (RCA), and she\u2019s Lillian\u2014a musician suspected of murder in the audiobook,\u00a0Too Dead to Swing<\/em>.\u00a0Among wild creatures, Gennaro has been both grandmother and baby bear, and a contingent of singing mice in Scholastic audiobooks\u00a0(Boom Chicka Rock,<\/i>\u00a0Goodnight SleepTight). <\/i>She\u00a0wears the Santa pants as the snappy sleigh-driving Mrs. Claus in the podcast Christmas is Coming<\/em>. (Panoply) and is known by video game fans as Maude Hanson (The Ice Cream Lady) on the original Grand Theft Auto,\u00a0<\/i>and the villainous Nicole Horne in the\u00a0Max Payne\u00a0<\/em>series (Rockstar).\u00a0Gennaro plays Ann in Patrick Wang\u2019s independent film,\u00a0<\/span>A Bread Factory Part Two; Walk With Me Awhile, \u00a0and she\u2019s\u00a0<\/i>looped in\u00a0<\/span>The Deuce \u00a0<\/i>(HBO).<\/span><\/p>\n
