How could such a young man become so old, so wise, so gentle, so feeble, his eyes glimmering with the bemused, affectionate interest of the old whose souls have not predeceased them? He was as good an old man as Morris Carnovsky. He should do\u2014indeed, he has almost done\u2014Lear.\u201d
