Notes / Anecdotes | When Cats closed after an 18-year run on Broadway, I wrote a satire about the actors who had appeared on Broadway for many years but now had to audition for Shakespeare. Each had remnants of feline costumes and makeup that they could not remove. In the same year, Elton John became a "Broadway Baby" and Rosie O'Donnell celebrated Broadway on her national TV talk show. The composer played Elton John and wrote a song called "Remember" that spoofed "Memory." I played Rosie O'Donnell and introduced Elton. | ||||||
