No Strings was my first Broadway show in 1962. Directed and choreographed by Joe Layton, music and lyrics by Richard Rogers. We played the 54th Street Theatre which is long gone. My parents came by bus from Schenectady by bus. Dressed to the nines. I was so proud. The opening night party was at Sardis. My mom and some point dropped something and when she bent to pick it up she saw a pants leg of a Sharkskin suit. She thought the only one I know who would wear a suit like that was Liberace and when she stood up there was Liberace. She was thrilled. What a wonderful experience.
