In the summers of 1981 and 1982 I was invited to head the Ballet department at Jacob’s Pillow. I was very grateful to be given this opportunity to become part of this institution’s great legacy and unique history. I had the opportunity the work closely with Jacob’s Pillow legends such as Jess Meeker and Bessy Schoenberg, to meet and work visiting artist from around the world (Frank Andersen of the Royal Danish Ballet became my lifelong friend) and to spend 9 whole weeks each summer with wonderful students from around the world. In addition to teaching Ballet I had the opportunity to premiere 2 new ballets (Songs and Etudes), choreographed for the students and performed at the historic Ted Shawn Theater.
