Clearing Rights

Please consult the guidance provided on securing legal permission to use all photos, videos, and other documents or media on your site in Reference Materials and the Contributor Manual.

If you are adding to your existing, published site please make sure all rights are cleared.

Here is a link to an excel spreadsheet that can help you to organize requests for your permissions. The permissions are given to you, the professional, so remember to keep a hard copy or digital backup of all communications in this regard.

Please check all that apply below:

I have added entries to the Clearing Rights form in the Mapping the Legacy tab to document permissions status
I am attaching a completed spreadsheet with details on permission status (see below)
I have added credits to media on my site, to acknowledge the author/artist/owner appropriately
For PEOPLE WHO ARE ADDING TO PUBLISHED sites only (not first-time submissions): I have cleared the rights
