Jimmie was known as The Blue Yodeler. He was one of the first Country musicians to embrace the Blues. He also recorded with Louis Armstrong. The play was written by Dr. Douglas Pote a physician in southwest Virginia. We performed the play at The Barter Theatre as well as The Carter Fold in Hiltons Va. Jimmie was part of The Bristol recording Sessions in 1927 as well as the Carter Family. The sessions were conducted by Ralph Peer of Victor records. Pictured is Tom Angland featured as Jimmie.
