Alonzo Fields served in the White House for twenty- one years. He wrote a book titled My 21 Years in the White House. He served under 4 presidents Hoover, Roosevelt, Truman, and Eisenhower. James Still wrote the play as a solo performance. It was well received by the Abingdon theatre goers. I was surprised we had some things in common. He was born on April 10, 1900. I was born on April 10, 1946. His family came out of slavery and my Great Grandfather was born in slavery. We also started rehearsals on April 10, 2014. I took that as a good omen.
