The first actor of radio novels, TV, theatre, cinema and also successful Cuban Declamador; Otto Sirgo, the famous "Don Juan Tenorio" was married successively to the Spanish Vedette Lola Villar, with the Mexican actress Magda Haller, with whom she had her Son Otto, with Elvira Bujones the mother of his daughter and with the announcer Dinorah Ayala with whom he was joined at the time of his death.
Here is the 1965 sign; of an exciting and regal tribute in NYC, for Otto Sirgo coordinated by his wife, the actress, singer and also host; Dinorah Ayala.
My colleague is very nice, with a beautiful voice and a lot of spark. We've shared several times in the theater and the New York Radio. Here we are with the also charismatic Cuban broadcaster, Rafael Pineda and with the actor, writer and Theatre Director Enrique De La Torre, who was the director of the busy tribute to Otto Sirgo. Note the huge cast of stars that attended supporting Otto, who was indisposed and died shortly after in Miami, on September 8, 1966. in the sign also appears my brother Nel Nero and his group the jaguar boys.

In 1971, I made a special program for Spanish International TV; pre-Univision, in the beautiful beach of Juan hurt, Dominican Republic, with Cassandra Damirón.
This lady was an actress, singer, dancer and folklorist known in her country as "the sovereign of the song". the most important award for Dominican artists is named after her. She is the second artist from Barahona who excels in National History, the first being the star of the international film María Montez (1912-1951).
Altagracia Cassandra Damirón Santana first took the merengue to the United States, Spain, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and other countries with his dance company.
Recently, the United Nations Educational, scientific and cultural organization (UNESCO) declared the Dominican Republic to be intangible cultural heritage. I congratulate Cassandra on her commitment! Sharing with her was another beautiful page of my life.

The United Service Organizations Inc. (USO) is a nonprofit organization that provides live entertainment & programs to members of the Unites States Armed Forces.
The USO became particularly famous for its live performances, called Camp Shows, through which the entertainment industry helped boost the morale of its servicemen and women. Performers in general were eager to show their patriotism, and many famous celebrities joined the ranks of USO entertainers. They entertained in military bases sometimes placing their own lives in danger, by traveling or performing under hazardous conditions.
During the Vietnam War, USO groups were sometimes located in combat zones.
In 1971, my USO group was flown in on a helicopter with military armed guards to perform on mountain top camps surrounded by the enemy Viet Cong forces. We performed & also taped a documentary during a month in Danang, Cam Ran Bay, Phu Bai, Phu Loy, Hue, Saigon, South Vietnam, and in places known only to military intelligence.
A war correspondent is a journalist who covers stories firsthand from a war zone. They are also called special correspondents; Therefore I became one of the first women; Latina war special correspondent, to interview the soldiers and document our experience in a war front area.
Between 1965 and 1972 nearly 3,000 celebrities, and professional groups performed in Vietnam.
Here are some photos & two special awards that l cherish: and of course the display of my hats by the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC

Memories of the golden era of WADO Radio. When I was really the champion! Thank you Nelson Lavergne and Premier Maldonado and engineers, promotions, news, sales and secretaries and assistants.
WADO AM Radio ratings during the 1980s was the highest ever in its Broadcasting history since its beginnings in 1927.
In my slot; 10:00 am - 3:00 pm, monthly survey reports placed it in third (As Shown) place among ALL NYC radio stations.
And yet lately whenever WADO’s Radio Past is chronicled or celebrated not one of our crew is mentioned. But we know that one person doesn’t make a successful show, many people working together create a winning formula. So here are some of my great colleagues, during WADO Radio’s Glorious years.
