My second work at Jacob’s Pillow was created in Summer 1982. This is a quartet to music by Robert Schumann, called Etudes. I later created a new version of the piece for Alaska Dance Theater, and for a showcase at Peridance Center.
My close friend, Doug Johnson, who originated the man’s role in Etudes passed away due to AIDS, at the onset of the pandemic.
