Mostly Mercer was the passion project of my long time lawyer and friend, Mark Sendroff (I met Mark when I was working as a singing waitress at Once Upon a Stove). He loved Johnny Mercer and wanted to do an album of his favorite Mercer tunes, featuring his clients, including: Jim Bailey (as Judy Garland), Kaye Ballard, Rosemary Clooney, Marilyn Cooper, Eydie Gorme, Mimi Hines, Jennifer Holliday, Fran Jeffries, Laura Kenyon, Nancy LaMott, Armelia McQueen, Mary Gordon Murray, Anita O’Day, Henrietta Valor and yours truly, along with Mark. There were also some great musicians on this project, including Kenny Werner and Michel Camilo (who accompanied me on Midnight Sun.) Another one of Mark’s clients, Bob Mackie, contributed the cover art. This was a truly fun labor of love.
