Bolero – 1983

The premiere performance of Bolero took place on October 1983, at the Mann Auditorium (Heichal Hatarbut) in Tel Aviv, as part of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra’s 48th Anniversary opening night celebration. The ballet was commissioned by Batsheva Dance Company for this occasion. It was soon after staged on Peridance Contemporary Dance Company for its 1986 inaugural New York season at the Riverside Dance Festival, and for numerous companies around the world. Peridance Contemporary Dance Company presented the work 40 years later as the center piece of its 40th Anniversary Legacy Season at the Skirball Theater in New York.
